Marigold Fishing Resort is widely praised for its family-friendly atmosphere, excellent fishing opportunities, and helpful, welcoming owners, though recent guests have raised concerns regarding maintenance, inconsistent pricing, and the accuracy of double-booking management.
?????????? Marigold Resort is such a wonderful place for a family getaway. The cabins are clean, cozy, and well-kept, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, right by the lake. We spent the days fishing together and even caught some great fish, which made the trip extra special. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy nature, and make lasting family memories. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back!
My Grandparents use to own a cabin at loon lake, which was sold about 10 years ago. My family and I recently went up to visit the cabin and we stayed at Marigold Resort. It was great experience. The location and resort were amazing. The RV we stayed in could use some updating but its an old RV and i didn't expect perfection. Eddie and Christine were warm and welcoming. They were very helpful and lovely to deal with. We loved it so much we have already booked to come back next year!
We Stayed at Marigold this past weekend (May 29-June 1 2025) and here I will give my Honest review: We arrived a bit early before check in and met with the Owners, After learning RV 9 is not waterfront anymore (still shows on Website as water view/front and as was the map that got removed in the spring according to the owner, We booked March 6th 2025). We asked if RV8 is available and we were offered and moved to RV8 very grateful for that. Once we said the awning would be great for the rain that’s coming the owner mentioned they have to fix a roof vent that leaks and we said no problem take your time to do so as well as the cleaning and getting the RV ready ( proceeded to just duct tape the vent ) We Booked a pontoon boat for a full day to be split into two half days. We asked for the newer one and In store the owner quoted $180 the other owner jokingly said $200 yet we were charged $220.00 . Yes we asked Saturday if the rain stops if we can take the two boys 5&8 out for 45min or so as the rain held us off the lake for most of the morning that we had it booked for and they were gracious to let us do so. We informed them Sunday after departure via email ( Reception only opens at 9 ) that we had no heat for Saturday night ( it was 3 degrees) and that the roof leaked and created a wet floor making it much worse , the response we got was well you had no issues Friday it must have been working if you said something we could have offered a electric heater ( we didn’t need or use heat Friday night) . Well we did go to the store around 7PM but it was closed as of 6PM and no one answered although we knocked. PS the propane smell the non working furnace blew into the RV put everyone at risk. We had to get everyone out and open the windows to air it out Upon packing up we found previous renters clothes , socks and shorts in the RV and when we mentioned it the first response was is that we rushed them to clean. After all this said and done and back and forth with the owners we were offered a $50.00 discount to what is fine but then it being retracted by being send photos of a cast iron pan we forgot to clean on the BBQ and a pot we left soaking with soap for easier cleaning , We left the RV clean with all garbage removed and even swept and left a bucket on the floor to catch the water from the leak to not cause them more damage. For me it was quite a surprise to learn that they would even throw the pot and pan back at us for not being cleaned. Since when is it the guests responsibility to clean everything and have it ready for a next guest to check in? Never once at a resort, Hotel or an Air BNB have I ever experience that. It just seemed that everything we mentioned or was unsatisfactory they tried to back pedal with some sort of justification to not take responsibility. So yes thank you for the $50 .00 discount after being overcharged $40 on the Pontoon Boat And PS on a last note please don’t let people shoot Hunting bow and arrows to a block right below the cabins where people walk and kids can play. It is dangerous and can recoil anywhere if it hits another object.
Great fishing cabins, super clean bathrooms/showers, friendly helpful owners/hosts, and on a great lake. Giving it a full 5 stars as it is exactly whats advertised!
I booked for our family of 20 several cabins one year in advance. A couple days after putting deposit down we were told we got double booked for one of our cabins so we arranged to stay in another cabin on site with no bathroom (not ideal but doable). THEN 2 months before our stay I was told I was double booked for SEVERAL cabins and they can no longer accommodate us. We were offered another resort with cabins that had shared bathrooms and no toilets. Se are now left with no accommodation.
Had a fun time with our family at the Marigold. The cabin we stayed in was a small cozy cabin and very clean. The lake was nice and quiet as it was end of season. Christine and Eddie are lovely!! Looking forward to coming back!
It’s a fishing resort! Great location and lots f fish. Comfortable well equipped cabins. Just what you need for a fishing trip. Thanks.
When we got here the owner was quick to meet us and direct us in parking by our cabin, since we have arrived here the owners have been nothing but helpful, store is great, the husband gave us advice on catching fish as I truly want my daughter to experience her first fish. The only thing is the docks, they are very high up from the water, this is truly a camping experience with some excellent perks. Don’t listen to the negative reviews/comments. Do yourself a favour, come find out for yourself. You’ll be glad you did like I am with my family.
We recently spent five delightful days at Marigold Fishing Resort in Cache Creek, BC, and had an overall fantastic experience. The service was amazing, with the exceptionally nice owners going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. They were fantastic hosts, always ready to help with anything we needed. The views of the lake are breathtaking, providing a serene and beautiful backdrop for our stay. The lake itself is gorgeous, and we particularly enjoyed the affordable and super fun boat rentals—probably the highlight of our trip. The resort also has a general store, which was convenient for any last-minute needs. We appreciated the BBQ rental at just $5 a day, which meant we didn’t have to worry about bringing our own. The beds were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep, and the prices were very reasonable. We’re already planning to come back next year, just like my aunt and uncle who return annually. There were a few minor drawbacks. The cabins were smaller than expected based on the photos but were still homey and cozy. We did encounter quite a few wasps, so come prepared. Additionally, there are leeches near the shore of the lake, so be cautious when swimming close to the edge. Venturing out to the middle of the lake was fantastic, though. The hot water ran out quickly, so we had to take cold showers, and the parking situation wasn’t ideal, although there is additional parking on the hill behind the resort. We also had to bring our own pillows and blankets, but they do supply you with sheets for the beds. Finally, there was a water boil advisory during our stay, which was a minor inconvenience given the website's claim of drinkable water. Despite these small issues, we had a wonderful time and highly recommend Marigold Fishing Resort for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
We can't say enough good things about our stay at Marigold Fishing Resort. Christine & Ed make you feel like family, as does Bailey the dog and the cat. It is such a relaxing atmosphere, restful, peaceful, we would recommend this place to everyone. Hopefully we will be back soon. Wayne & Colleen Humphreys & Lucy (the dog) Oh yes, it's pet friendly.
