Lac Des Roches Resort offers a rustic lakeside experience with a strong emphasis on hospitality and family-friendly activities. Recent reviews highlight the warm welcome, beautiful lake views, and access to outdoor recreation, although cleanliness and accessibility concerns have been raised. We had the best time there! Felt like part of the family! Luca and Olivia made sure everything was perfect and we felt taken care of. Cabin was in pristine condition, cozy and clean. Can't wait fo be back!

We rented two cabins no#5 and no#6. These rustic cabins were excellent, clean and perfectly set up right at the waters edge. The people who run the place really do their best and made our stay memorable for our family. This is truly a hidden gem for a nice little nature getaway!

We had rented the chalet with our son and his family. The chalet was clean and we were pleased with the personal service. We were able to rent canoes for the days we were there. The staff was warm and very welcoming. The only thing we would do differently is bring our own bbq as one was not available

Was honestly not worth the money spent. We hosted our family reunion there. Rooms were not properly cleaned. Coffee pot had mold in it along with dirty dishes in the sink, garbage left over and dirty laundry left in the cabin from previous guests in cabin 8. Frying pan was not properly cleaned in cabin 3 and was covered in crusties. Garbage and bathroom was disgusting in cabin 1. The floors in cabin 5 is so slanted towards the bathroom, there was inadequate bedding even though they were informed of the number of quests in cabin 5 and 4 and we were required to go with the property owner to retrieve them in the basement of cabin 8 late at night. There was also moldy cheese in the fridge of Cabin 5. We also were not informed of the $40/person charge on top of the nightly rate. And not properly informed that 10 in under is free when it was stated as minors in conversation. Rooms are not properly accessible if you have disabilities. No wheel chair accessibly to any cabins and bathrooms are not accessible if you are of larger frame. The only positive portion was the fact it was close to relatives to visit.

We stayed in Chalet #8 . The loft was spacious and great place for the teens. Nice big window in livingroom looking out too the lake, we seen Deer running on the frozen lake in the early morning. Kitchen well equipped. Fridge older, but very cold and lots of room inside . It's a rustic log cabin do don't expect fancy. Lake and dock is right there. We enjoyed the fire pit. Bring own toiletries like shampoo and hand soap. Dish soap was supplied. Bring drinking water as well.

Luca and Laura are the most amazing, kind people. Getting to know them was an honor, we felt welcomed and truly at home. And the lakeside is just beautiful!

Quiet place, beautiful lake. The owners are super nice. But the rooms were small and dirty. The pullout bed was dirty when I pulled it out. The room smelt like dirty mouldy towels. Most of the boats didn't run very good or they leaked. But the staff is friendly and the fish were biting.

Spent 2 nights in #10. We were bitten constantly from the bugs and suspected bed bugs in the bed. Inability to adjust booking due partner who was covered in bites. Location is great, but honestly stay elsewhere as other reviews have stated.

27 years! That’s the last time I was here at this resort! I spent 4 summers here as a kid visiting this lake for a week at a time with my family and grandparents and some of my earliest memories are here. Watching the video’s for years I always said I will go back! This summer as a tribute to them I loaded up my young family and came here! The bar was set high from my experiences, and This resort and Luca and his wife blew them out of the water! The prices for a lake side 2 bedroom cabin experience and I remind you LAKE SIDE is well worth the price! The layouts were just how I remembered them, and yes they’re “rustic” but honestly it’s “glamping” you had everything you needed and was perfect! We had a deck, great neighbours as it is 3 accommodations per building, chatting fishing and all enjoying the outdoors is part of the experience! I remember playing with the other kids on resort and seeing my daughter do the same was awesome, only this time Luca has a full playground set up! They made a volleyball court and ring toss! Weather didn’t cooperate for a day and half of our stay but, experiencing the thunder storm up there was incredible! The rain was on and off, yes no cable but Luca has hundreds of dvds for you to borrow and enjoy! Plus the decks had great coverage to sit outside and enjoy the views. I should have taken this opportunity to try a cappuccino! (Next time Luca!) The boat usage for the day was incredible! A tin boat, motor and gas for around $60 a day was perfect for me to enjoy cruising the lake and attempting to fish. There is fish in that lake! I had lots of action and honestly the only fish landed was right off the dock by cabin one morning! But they were jumping all weekend all over! Could fish from shore if wanted too! The only recommendation I had the entire trip is This resort needs more merchandise of the resort, I would have bought magnet and more t shirts of this iconic resort and gem in the area. My parents kept my shirt when I was 3/4 years old and my daughter got to wear it at this lake at the same age! I showed Luca and his wife and they said it inspired them to look into it! They even sent the pics of my daughter wearing it to them to show how cool it that was! We cannot wait to come back again, this stay honestly felt we were welcomed by family friends to stay on their resort. I promise it won’t be 27 years between visits. We had Such a blast and have been raving to all our friends and family to take the trip up here!

What an amazing place to stay! I left Vancouver Island with no plan and no destination in mind, just fishing! I came across the resort by accident, drive up to the office and asked what they had. I took a cabin in front of the dock. The hosts were absolutely amazing! The log cabin fantastic! Laura made a group of us cappuccino in the main building, a group of strangers, we had such an amazing time chatting overlooking the lake. I planned on staying one night ended up with 3. Caught some fish, rented a canoe, it was such a great trip. I am hoping to head in a few weeks to see the fall colours. Highly recommend this resort!
