Many guests praise the property's prime lakeside location and the friendly, knowledgeable owners, particularly noting that the access to the lake via a boat rental makes it a great spot for disconnecting with nature. However, the general sentiment is divided, with multiple 1-star reviews citing severe service issues from the owner and guests finding specific cabins to be unclean, dilapidated, and structurally unsafe.

30 minutes from 100 Mile House, this place was wonderful, owned by wonderful people. Although there are facilities on site that are not in operation. (A beautiful little restaurant, tent sites). We had a group of 15. Nice cozy cabins with running water, electricity and heat. Full service RV spots, with nice level landings. Fire pits, wood, a dock and boat launch, boat rentals available, all on beautiful Canim Lake. This place is for sale, the owners are transitioning into a new phase of life, I am happy for their hospitality and hope someone new will continue this business with the same heart.

Great location with wonderful views. General store close by, the hosts are amazing (including Maddox the old lab that does his rounds and comes to visit from time to time) We did some kayaking, you can even rent them from the hosts if you don't have your own) and fishing. Great spot for a week away. Beware though: you're coming here to disconnect from technology and connect to nature: there isn't much coverage after 100 mile, but there is good Internet at the cabin

The owner is one of the rudest people I have ever interacted with. I made a one night cabin reservation for a last minute getaway. I received a confirmation email and saw that I needed to call with my credit card details to hold the reservation. I was out without my card and planned to call when I got home. While I was out, I received an email saying that my reservation was cancelled. My fault, it was about four hours later and I must have taken too long to call. When I got home a half hour later, I saw that the cabin was still available and rebooked it online. I received a second confirmation email and called right away to confirm. I was greeted by immediate hostility and aggression. I said I was calling to confirm my reservation and share my credit card details. The owner said he didn’t have anything available. I said, “oh! I made a reservation already online :)” he said he cancelled it. I said I knew, my mistake, and I had just rebooked online. He said “Well, cancel it again, I don’t care.” I thought we were having a miscommunication. I said that I didn’t understand why it was being cancelled the second time. He said “I don’t care if you don’t understand. I have the last word”. He said “I don’t care” at least 20 times throughout the conversation. What? Who speaks like this? I now understood what he was saying. I was so shocked by his insolence that I was on the verge of tears. I asked “so you’re cancelling it for no reason? I was so excited to stay there”. He said “I don’t care. Only one night? There’s a three night minimum”. I said it didn’t say that anywhere on the website. He said “well I’m telling you now.” I told him that I had a confirmation email for one night in the cabin. He said “they send those automatically. I can cancel any reservation”. I had had enough of his vile attitude and asked if he was incompetent. Then I called him a big man and hung up the phone. I am not proud of the way I ended the conversation, but the way this man speaks to people is unacceptable. You are better off giving your business to one of the numerous beautiful resorts in the area run by good folks. Don’t waste your time being disrespected by these people.

Drove into the resort this past week to check out if it would be a good place to come the following year with our kids for a vacation. A truck was pulling out a boat from the launch, so we drove past the entrance without noticing the "stop" signs and, as others have noted, simply drove through the site looking for a round about to turn around. When we came back through the "gate" the owner met us with a scowl and we dropped our window. "What are you doing? You're speeding through our lot and you're not a guest of our property. You have no business being here." She nearly had her head in my window and scared both of my kids in the back seat. We mentioned we were just trying to see the property and to turn around. "Get out of here, you're not welcome". Never before have I experienced such a miserable person attempting to run a "resort". Based on the feedback from locals I talked to, the resort has become a liability to the area as it's turning people away. I hope the resort can find new ownership as it's a wonderful area and great space on the lake.

Due to a cancellation for our family reunion, we were scrambling to find a new venue that could hold our party of 26. We called Canim Lake Resort because we stayed there 2 years prior with our own family and had a wonderful time. Rudy basically told us that he doesn't allow anymore tenting (which some of our family would need), apparently tenters make too much of a mess. We called down the road at South Point Resort and Leanne was amazing. We were more than happy to give her our $3000 for the one week stay. Rudy's loss is Leanne's gain, we will be going back to South Point again next year, already booked.

Stayed in cabin 4, brought an 18 foot boat. Decent boat launch, very clean and warm cabin. stayed during May long weekend with overnight temps down to around 2 degrees and cabin was very comfortable. No cell service and inconsistent WIFI but who needs their phone when you have a view like that. Nearby general store very well stocked with food/booze and supplies. Will definitely be coming back in the future

My family and I recently had a great time staying in Cabin 6 at Canim Lake Resort. It was quiet, relaxing and peaceful. The scenery was beautiful. We caught several rainbow trout (hint, troll wedding band lures with a worm). We went and hiked to Canim Falls and Mahood Falls. We checked out Mahood Lake. And we had lots of great nights around the campfire looking at the stars. The owners, Rudy and Dorothy are wonderful and have some great stories to tell having owned the property for 30 years. I highly recommend Canim Lake Resort and would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed in Cabin 8, and quickly discovered why there are no pictures of the interior on the website! Given the run down state of the cabin, I am still fuming that it cost me $150 a night. The cabin has such a strong tilt you can roll a can from one side to the other. I would get slight vertigo each other time I left the bathroom, the slope was so bad! The interior might have been nice 25 years ago, but it's painfully obvious the bare minimum has been invested in the upkeep. There is no potable water in the cabin, so you have to bring in or boil water. Given that it's probably lake water I don't recommend cooking with it. The "resort" grounds have no tree cover, so you're staring at your neighbours. Situated at the marshy end of the lake, the water off the dock is not suitable for swimming as it's chock full of lake weeds. Thankfully we were visiting friends on a nicer part of the lake, otherwise we would have been very disappointed to stay here. This site might be fine if you have an RV and don't swim. Maybe the other cabins are in better shape, but Cabin 8 is a dump straight out of a horror movie set.

This is the 5th year that our family has had another successful gathering at Canim Lake Resort. There are usually 30 to 42 people, ranging in age from newborn to 92 years old and this resort has something to offer everyone. From the playground…… to the fishing…. to a great gathering place to keep out of the sun or rain. We love this place. The washroom facilities are well looked after and very clean. Cabins are cozy, clean and well equipped. The individual RV sites are well maintained, lawns mowed and garbage always picked up. The hosts, Rudy and Dorothee offer a very secure, friendly camping experience. I look forward to returning each year.
