Guests consistently praise the 'High Country Inn' for exceptional hospitality and personalized service, particularly highlighting the accommodating nature of owners Mike and Tanya. Despite being isolated by location, the property is lauded for its comfort, cleanliness, and the inclusion of homemade meals in the room and board package.
Great service great Internet, clean rooms great views
Extremely friendly and accommodating staff! Nice restaurant with very reasonable prices. Clean rooms.
Good food. Friendly service. And they sold me a red pepper so I can cook a proper breakfast in camp tomorrow. Highly recommended.
We ventured out to Likely last week and happened upon the High Country Inn for lunch. Our lunch was delicious with obviously “homemade” burgers. The service was excellent and we so appreciated the recommendation to travel to nearby Quesnel Flats. What a fascinating place. Our guest from Ottawa even got to see a beautiful bear! What a beautiful part of BC.
A wonderful place to stay. Mike and Co. were very accommodating. I booked the room and board package and they did not disappoint. Bagged breakfast and lunch + all the healthy/unhealthy snacks and drinks you want, AND a buffet (smorg) dinner every night...even vegetarian options. I'll definitely be back.
I've stayed at a couple of places in the area for work but the High Country Inn has been the most comfortable stay. The rooms stay nice and cool in the 30 degree + weather and the beds are comfortable. The rooms also have satellite TV and good wi-fi, which has been hard to come by at past accommodations. It's also a huge bonus that each room has its own bathroom, as several other places have shared bathrooms. On top of all of this, the owners Mike and Tanya have been great. They are very friendly and helpful. Whenever guests speak to Mike, he will end the conversation with "let me know if you need anything". Mike has been great at accommodating dietary intolerances for my coworkers as well. The location is great for those looking to fish or boat on Quesnel Lake and learn about the history of the area. I would 100% recommend this place to others!
Rarely in all of my days have I come across such kind, accommodating, and hospitable folks. I have dairy and gluten allergies, Mike made sure I had just as many dinner options as everyone else and took care of my dietary needs with a smile every single night. He made a point to offer and encourage guests to take advantage of their hospitality. I had a bag lost at the airport, it arrived after I'd left to go back home, guess who sent it back to me without a moments hesitation (It wasn't Air Canada). At one point, during dinner service, a distressed woman came in citing car troubles, Mike quickly got her a phone from the back and offered her and her family a place to stay if need be. This isn't about 5 star amenities or magical rooms with wet edge bathtubs... sometimes when traveling, the most important thing is feeling like you're taken care of. On that score, there aren't enough stars in the sky to rate this place, so I'll just give it 5 for now. Thank you Mike and Tanya for taking care of me. I hope to be back one day! Sincerely, Connor
The staff was super easy to talk too over the phone. I sent a crew up there recently. One guy said it was one of the nicest places hes ever stayed! The guys were very well fed which was great as they were working hard (3 meals). Great cooking, never had such good ribs before! Thanks again!
