We recently stayed at Tyax Resort for a girls' getaway and family celebration, and it was such a memorable experience. The setting is absolutely stunning, with beautiful lake and mountain views that make it easy to relax and disconnect from everyday life. The resort offers the perfect balance of adventure and tranquility, whether you're exploring the area or simply enjoying the scenery. One of the highlights for us was how welcoming Tyax was to our dogs. Traveling with pets can sometimes be challenging, but the staff made us feel comfortable, and there were plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors together. Our dogs had just as much fun as we did! The accommodations were comfortable, the grounds were well maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It was the perfect location to celebrate with family while also enjoying some much-needed time with friends. We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and already talking about our next visit. Thank you, Tyax, for helping create such special memories!
Truly amazing across the board from the skiing itself to the knowledgeable staff to the great amenities - every single detail was planned out for you so you could just enjoy yourself when you got there.. I had an absolutely incredible experience and would high recommend this to anyone else looking at heli-skiing options Can't wait to get back in the future!
Had an absolutely incredible experience at Tyax Lodge. There were so many things that stood out, but the one-group-per-heli setup was truly next level. Yes, the helicopter is loud when it drops you off, but the moment it leaves, it’s pure silence and peace at the top of the mountain with your group. From there, you ski down to a waiting helicopter through terrain that feels both exciting and incredibly safe, guided by a lead and tail guide. I was initially nervous about heli-skiing from a safety perspective, but that quickly disappeared. Between the guides, the pilot, avalanche gear, and airbag backpacks provided, I felt completely taken care of. It allows you to focus on skiing instead of worrying. The lodge itself exceeded every expectation. From a barista making gourmet coffee each morning (with multiple milk options) to multi-course dinners, après snacks, and an on-site spa and massage, every detail is thoughtfully done. The comfort and hospitality elevated the entire experience. What really stood out, though, was the people. The staff makes you feel genuinely welcomed - like you’re part of a family. It’s rare to find a place where no corners are cut across both experience and safety. Truly an unforgettable trip. The experience is unmatched, and it’s one I’ll be thinking about for a long time. Thank you Tyax!
Tremendous heli ski adventure with Tyax. My son and I were first time heli ski participants and thoroughly enjoyed our 4.5 days of skiing high alpine bowls, rolling mid mountain slopes and lower glades of trees. We never saw another group and never crossed any skier / snowboarder tracks. The single group format with dual guides enabled relaxed helicopter boarding, slope flexibility, and reassurance for any trailing participant. The single group format also enabled a participant to sit out a run or two by staying in the helicopter. The skiing day was supported by constantly available water, power snacks, and a multi choice skier lunch - soup, cheeses, fruits, sandwiches, charcuterie, and dessert. I was also impressed by the multiple safety briefings that included helicopter entry, egress, emergency procedures, plus the usage of the airbag pack, shovel, snow probes, and transponders. The pilot and guides were very serious about safety. They also solicited frequent feedback to help make any required adjustments. The lodge accommodation and staff were incredible. Very quiet, comfortable room, excellent breakfast, après, and group dinners. Our well traveled table commented multiple times about the high quality, variety and abundance for each dinner. The spa with steam, sauna, hot tub, stretching and exercise rooms were clean, inviting and comfortable. I am very pleased that we selected Tyax. The entire staff made us feel very welcome. We went for the snow. But, we loved it all. I am eager to return next year.
This is my fourth visit with Tyax heliskiing. It is my first time under new management. The operation remains a great experience. Access from Vancouver was by a comfortable Sprinter van and then helicopter. The skiing was fantastic. Slope selection by out guide was appropriately challenging without compromising safety. The one group per helicopter is a wonderful change. Our group was a mix of 8 skiers and snowboarders from Austria, Switzerland, Canada and USA. Although we had not met before, our skill levels matched well as well as our personalities. Together we enjoyed the well guided ski experience, exquisite dining and morning yoga. The rooms were spacious, quiet, well appointed , clean and comfortable. I had a massage and it was wonderful. Steam, Dry Sauna and a hot tub was helpful for my sore muscles. I do not do yoga regularly, but It saved me every day by getting me ready for the slopes.
Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing — Dining at the Edge of Serenity ? Tyaughton Lake, Gold Bridge, BC Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing offers a dining experience that pairs the tranquility of nature with refined lodge-style cuisine. While the surrounding scenery steals much of the attention, the restaurant manages to hold its own with well-prepared dishes and genuine mountain hospitality. Breakfast Mornings at Tyax begin with a generous breakfast buffet that caters to both adventurers and comfort seekers. The spread includes an impressive array of options: scrambled eggs, crispy hash browns, bacon, assorted cheeses, smoked salmon, fresh fruit, cookies, and a tempting variety of breads. Beverages range from a selection of juices and teas to freshly brewed coffee. The buffet is well-organized, replenished frequently, and offers something for every palate. A satisfying and hearty start before a day of exploring the lake or trails. Rating: 8/10 Dinner Service Dinner at Tyax carries a casual mountain charm with a touch of sophistication. Halibut and Chips Served with fries, coleslaw, and a sauce gribiche, the halibut and chips impressed with its golden crisp batter and well-balanced seasoning. The fish was flaky and tender, maintaining its moisture beautifully. The fries were crisp, and the creamy sauce complemented the dish perfectly. Rating: 8/10 Calamari Accompanied by tzatziki and fried shishito peppers, the calamari was light, crunchy, and well-seasoned. The peppers added a playful touch of heat, elevating the overall experience. Rating: 8/10 Salmon Salad The house-cured sockeye salmon salad featured baby greens, tender potatoes, and a perfectly soft-boiled egg. The flavors were clean and balanced, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients. The salmon itself was the highlight—silky, delicate, and just salty enough to complement the greens. Rating: 8/10 Cheesecake For dessert, the cheesecake delivered a pleasant finish. While its presentation was modest, the flavor was rich and creamy without being overly sweet—a fitting end to a satisfying meal. Rating: 8/10 Service Service varied between meals. The morning staff were attentive, friendly, and efficient—quick to clear tables and offer refills. However, evening service felt slower and less engaged, with longer waits between courses and minimal table checks. It wasn’t poor, but the contrast was noticeable. Rating: 6/10 Ambiance The ambiance at Tyax is simply stunning. The lodge’s rustic charm blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings—wooden beams, large windows overlooking Tyaughton Lake, and cozy interior lighting that gives a warm alpine feel. Whether you’re seated for breakfast as sunlight glimmers over the lake or enjoying dinner beneath the mountain dusk, the setting is undeniably beautiful. Rating: 9/10 Price Prices lean toward the higher end, reflecting both the remote location and resort-style dining experience. Given the quality of ingredients, portion sizes, and overall setting, the cost feels justified, though not necessarily a bargain. Verdict Dining at Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing captures the essence of wilderness luxury—honest food prepared with care, served in one of the most breathtaking settings in British Columbia. While service could be more consistent in the evening, the combination of solid cooking, serene ambiance, and scenic views makes this a memorable culinary escape worth experiencing.
We feel so lucky to have visited this very special place! The mountain biking access, complimentary watercraft, lodge games, bar & restaurant are amazing, and it's all located in one of the most beautiful places on earth, it's unbelievable! The desk staff really helped sort and accommodate our schedule. All wait staff was kind, friendly, and helpful. The food and drinks were delicious. The spa was relaxing! What more could you ask for?
This is a must go to. Beautifully scenic incredible Lodge anytime of the year. We were just there a week ago, summer 2025. The lake was beautiful and warm, the food was very good and absolutely outstanding service by all the members of the team there at Tyax. I cannot speak more highly of the service from everyone and the friendliness of all the staff. If you are looking for a great get away for hiking, biking, fishing or just to relax this is a great option. It is so peaceful and absolutely beautiful. See you next year!
We recently stayed at Tyax Lodge and had an absolutely incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well taken care of — genuinely some of the best service we've ever had! The food was consistently excellent, and the breakfast and brunch buffet was especially delicious — fresh, generous, and full of thoughtful options. The watercraft activities were a highlight too — from paddleboarding to kayaking, everything was well-organized and the lake/views are breathtaking. Fun to watch the float planes too. Our room was luxurious, quiet, and so comfortable — the kind of place you actually want to linger in. Great attention to detail. Highly recommend Tyax to anyone looking for a relaxing yet active getaway with top-notch hospitality. We’re already dreaming about our next visit!
We stayed in the Lynx Chalet at Tyax for 4 nights in early July. The Chalet is located a short drive or walk from the main lodge on a separate property. It was very spacious and well-equipped for self-catering. We had full access to all of the amenities at the Lodge, including kayaks/canoes/paddle boards and the games room. The biggest and most wonderful surprise was that the restaurant and bar were fantastic. Being in this remote a spot we weren't sure what to expect but the food was really delicious and varied, they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions no problem and the cocktails were divine! We did a great hike in the South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park next door and spent lots of time swimming and paddling on Tyaughton Lake. We would love to return one day soon.
